Hmm. Well, it seems pretty reasonable that the people who are prepared to pony up some extra dough for a stylish computing experience would do the same when shopping for stationary. :)
Does that mean that PC users prefer generic legal pads and that Linux users bind their own notebooks?

Nope, I use a PC. I have games to play when I'm not pontificating.

Full disclosure: I use a PC, too.

Another PC'er here...but I wished I used a Mac (and used to)...doesn't that count for *something*?

Currently in my studio/office: 1 Powerbook, 1 G5 tower, 1 iBook and 3 moleskines. No snobbery (ok, a little) - it's jst that both Macs and Moleskines fit my creative process the best. Creatives like good design. We're junkies for it. Cool thread - who woulda thunk to connect them?

It's interesting that the dominant paradigm is that Macs are for the expensive elite. I got a Mac because it's cheaper and easier to use. A year-old iMac was 60% less than a new iMac. Cheaper than an equivalent speed & size PC.
I use it on cable, in Australia, and it craps on any MS-based thing I've come across - and yes, I am very familiar with MS & PC. My iMac never crashes and never lets me down. I've never had to have a Tech to help me with software, hardware, add-ons, viruses or anything like that.
I got a stash of software with it - incuding OS X, Mail, Internet Browser, WP, Spreadsheet, DB, all with "Save As..." capability to all other popular MS programs. I've never have had a virus. I don't get spam (maybe my thingo is already big enough...)
I also got a Digital Photo app that's better than all the others I've seen, and iMovie, and iTunes, and ... and ... *so* much stuff ...(www.apple.com/downloads/macosx ... )
(in fact because OS X is Unix, there's more stuff than PC stuff, and certainly more interesting stuff... see sourceforge.net)
The only thing I may need is a Mac version of MS Word for my clients who still wear ties.
I run my Mac on OS X. My kids don't have a problem on that either. They have plenty of games they can get, and they keep in touch with their friends on MS Messenger ( ... or AOL or Yahoo ... ).
As for games - well, my kids are glad I got a Mac because they can play the same games on better graphics than their pc mates - that's when they get bored enough to descend to games ...
I have a Mac for the same reason I have a small simple notebook in my pocket, instead of a status-building PDA.
I have a Mac because I want thing to work for me - not me for them.
Thanks for the opportunity.

Um... I didn't mean my rant to be the last word here - It was just an opinion, folks...

don't find that strange at all, most of the creatives I know... designers, artists, musicians would not dream of working on anything but a macintosh...

Moleskine + MacBook = love.
I've noticed a lot of moleskine users are mac fans as well. I wouldn't necessarily say 'most' but definitely more than average.

I recently bought a white MacBook and started getting into Moleskines since January. They just fit my personality and actually make me more productive. Sort of. :)

I love macs and moleskines. I endure PCs (at work) because I have to, but given the opportunity will sing the praises of mac. The intuitiveness of both products are why I love them. Though I use my macs for work and school, its also for fun and I keep all my pics, music and interesting tidbits of info on it as well. Though I use a PDA phone for alarms and such, I'm a pen and paper person at heart and thus...Moleskines. And they're pretty too! :)
