ALPHA CO 110TH MI BN request *anything* (20 soldiers)

“This was originally posted on behalf of Alpha Co 110 MI BN on February 25. The soldier requested that it be renewed.

Thank you for your support of our forces. It helps to receive encouragement while we are away from our families. We would enjoy getting any kind of letters from you.

…details from the soldier about the group are:

-About 20 soldiers, about 5 are female
-Sould be at the current APO for the next 2.5 months (mid May)
-They will take any kind of books, but would be interested in Stephen King, John Grisham and Tom Clancy, and any action / adventure or books on the military.
-Magazines especially for young men would be appreciated: FHM, Stuff, Details, Maxim, Sports Illustrated (especially swimsuit edition), music like Rolling Stone and exercise like Men’s Health or Muscle and Fitness. -Any car magazine would disappear on arrival. A news or political magazine would be good, too.
-They have running water for showers, etc. But toiletry items are always great to have when they are not on base.
-There is electricity all around the base and most soldiers haveaccess to a microwave.
-Most of the soldiers also have personal cd/dvd players. A variety of music/movies would do wonders.
-They will take all kinds of snacks if you wanted to include any; snack packs; fruit roll-ups, etc. Granola bars, hard candies were suggested.”

Books For Soldiers is a soldier support site that ships books, DVDs and supplies to deployed soliders and soldiers in VA hospitals, via our large volunteer network.

If you have old, but usuable paperback books sitting around, collecting dust, why not send them to a solider for a big morale boost?

Many of our volunteers have received email and letters from the soldiers they have adopted.

Help us out, help the troops out, mail them your books.”

  1. Just wanted to send a quick shout out to all the soldier in the 110th MI Bn, from an old “96 Romeo”. Be safe and God bless!

  2. A 96R from 88-98 and was a member of the PLT. in Fairbanks. Good luck and God bless. I was there the first time around.
