"One day I found myself needing a ruler and
I’m not in the habit of carrying such an item. I do carry my Moleskine. So
with a ruler at home, a pen and a blank page I created both a standard and
metric ruler."
Moleskine Ruler

I had the same problem and found a small (6 inch) metal engineering scale buried in the back of my desk drawer. It has both english and metric measurements on one side and decimal equivalents on the other side. The downside is that it fits in the back pocket of the large journal, but not the pocket size journal. Your hack solves that problem!
The pocket weekly diaries come with a ruled edge – wouldn’t it be lovely if they all did?
Molskine ruler hack – I found that the plastic 5″ ruler that came with my old filofax pocket organizer was the perfect size for my pocket moleskine. To keep it in place I used two self adheasive picture mounting corners for it to slide into, I attached the corners on the back inside cover.
