"...there has never been an inexpensive pen that is compact enough to keep in my pocket until I made my faithful run to the store last week. The Zebra tele-scopic is perfect for putting in a jean pocket, and it telescopes into a regular sized and balanced ball point pen. Not only that they are far cheaper than the Fisher Space Pen at ~$5.49 US for two pens with two refills. Now that is a deal!"

Nice pen. The Fisher Bullet pen is another great pocket sized choice.

ahhh, nutz...can the zebra pens write on the way to Saturn...betcha not.
next time i'm on my way to Saturn, I'll opt for the SpacePenFisherGaseous thingie....till then maybe a sharp rock, or...even a crayon will do.

I picked up a couple of these not long ago, attracted by the telescoping and the double pack and the refills. However, I hate, hate, hate writing with it. Maybe I've just been spoiled by my Uniball pens, but I avoid the Zebra like the plague. Too small, too rough, too cheap. I feel like I'm getting an arm workout pressing hard enough to make the blasted thing write.

The Zebra F301 http://www.zebrapen.com/ball-f301ultra.html and the F402 http://www.zebrapen.com/ball-f402.html are both great pens. They are very sturdy (I keep mine in my back pocket, so I sit on it from time to time) and they come in fine point.

Zebra will be coming out with another pen with the same idea as the telescopic. It will be made of a much heavier metal and will have the same refill as the f-301 and f-402 series. Look for it this holiday season in office supply stores

I've got a question. I finished my Zebra Telescopic pen, but now I have no idea how to refill it. And it claims that it's a refillable pen. Can anyone give me some pointers on how to change the ink?

Refills can be purchased at http://www.boardroomproducts.com/Qstore/Qstore.cgi?CMD=011&PROD=1070309506
model number is 4C
To refill, simply unscrew the metal tip and pull off protective internal sleeve. Pull refill out, then replace with new refill. Just be careful and make sure you place the end off the refill in the cylinder inside the barrel.

I love these tele-scopic pens... we've purchased about 6-8 of them... now I don't need any more pens... but I do need refills... where can I purchase JUST the refills?

unscrew the top cap while in closed mode. remove spring and cover cap , pull out mini refill. replace with new pushing into locking gripper and replace cover then spring and finally the tip cover

The Zebra telescopic pen, medium tip, is perfect for my use, except both the ones I've had leaked badly. There's no good reason - I don't treat them roughly, sit on, etc.

I bought one of these because my other ballpoints tend to bore their way out of my pockets and then my pocket contents like to follow. I haven't any complaints about the pressure when I write, seems to work better than most ballpoints, and I use it with a small comp book for keeping up with creative writing scratch ideas. It has very much done a great job for that but now facing the refill thing... I am a little too cheap to buy a new one, so I will try the aforementioned tips. I have rather enjoyed the compact/no-jamming holes in my pockets feature.
