Happy Birthday Moleskinerie!

When I clicked on the "save" button for my first post 2 years ago, I had no idea what I was going into or how long it would last.  The only thing I knew was that I liked a particular notebook and crossed my fingers others would join me.

Quite a few things have happened since then. Among other excitement, we’ve started the Wandering Moleskine Project, been in the papers, spoke at a trade show and  most important of all – I’ve made your acquaintance.

With all the troubles in the world it is comforting to know that our common interests can bring us together, pens and brushes in hand. "If you build it, they will come" goes the oft-repeated quotation from  "Shoeless Joe." Perhaps if we write about peace, and in peace,  it will  come.

Zaz_1I remember a day back in arts school when, upon realizing we had ran out of film, a friend and I burst into spontaneous applause at a magnificent sunset. It was the most fitting, heartfelt tribute we could think of. Today I do the same in the general direction of the north, east, south and west in appreciation and gratitude to all of you around the world for making Moleskinerie what it is today – a thriving, vibrant and quirky community.

Grazie, dank u wel, xie xie, obrigado, terima kasih, dziekuje, shukran, toda raba, danke schön, dhukriya, maraming salamat, muchas gracias, asante sana, merci, spasibo, domo arigato and, in a nod to my now-defunct favorite TV series;  "yada, yada, yada."

Thanks to all our friends and supporters for 2 wonderful years. I look forward to many more.

Sincerely,

Armand B. Frasco

Greetings from our friends:

VrzIn a court of law, witnesses put their hand on a Bible and swear an oath to tell the truth. For us devotees, whatever truth we have usually ends up in our own book, the Moleskine.  Three cheers to moleskinerie.com on its birthday. Without either that little black book or Armand Frasco’s essential website, a day in our life would be just that much smaller.

BsmArmand, congratulations on Moleskinerie’s second anniversary! You’ll be glad to know I’m taking one to Antarctica in October – http://www.south.com/

Best,

Congratulations on Moleskinerie’s 2nd birthday Armand! I’m always inspired by the information and unique posts you manage to come up with. Where do you get all the great info? :-)

As a Moleskine user, it’s great to have a place like Moleskinerie where I can not only find out the latest scoop on Moleskine info, but related topics that challenge my thinking.

Mrk_1Thanks for your hard work and dedication — I wish you all the best and many more years at the helm of Moleskinerie!

Happy 2nd Birthday, Moleskinerie. Your devotion to the best notebooks in the world is inspiring. I made silkscreened Moleskines for my fellow Make magazine staffers for the holidays.

Cdl_1"Happy second anniversary, Moleskinerie! Thank you for celebrating the world’s most sensuous notebook, and for letting us catch inspiring glimpses into what other
aficionados do with theirs. Here’s to many more years of soft leather,
smooth paper and snappy elastics!"

- Best, Clotilde.

"I have been using Moleskine notebooks for several years now, and started a work related to moleskine more than 1 year ago. I always feel proud that my job is related to products I still really care about after all this time, but also that these simple and beautiful notebooks have contributed to create a community that at the same time respects the past and look towards the future, with curiosity. Moleskinerie is without doubt the best showcase of what this community is about and never ceases to surprise , amuse me and make me think, day after day."
