It was a very good year

Nyg

For this last post of 2006 I would like to thank all of you, visitors and friends from near and far who have helped Moleskinerie and Notebookism grow into communities with some of the most creative people I have known.

Blogging can get lonely; even thankless and scary especially when resources are meager and challenges seem to come from every direction. It is during these times when you have come through and made sure our little site is kept going.

As we prepare to celebrate our 3rd year at Moleskinerie on January 12, I look back at the thousands of posts with fascination and a tinge of poignancy, remembering those who are no longer with us. Yet, like a symbol of continuity our fledgeling partner site, Notebookism has taken wing and I am heartened by the warm welcome it has received.

In a couple of days we will ring in another year, hopefully with notebooks in hand. A word, a sentence, a stroke of the pen at the stroke of midnight and wishes for peace, health and prosperity for all.

  1. Thank you, Armand, for bringing this wonderful site (and Notebookism, too) to us. I’ve found so many inspiring and thought-provoking ideas here. Instead of being hesitant to write in my Moleskine like I once was, now I happily carry FOUR of them with me every day. And I use them every day! Happy New Year to you and to all Moleskine and notebook fans.

  2. I discovered this blog in early January 2006 and I picked up my first Moleskine a few days later. I’ll start my second journal within a day or two and I thank you Armand and the rest of the folks behind this site for giving me the interest and information.

I’ve been blogging in various locations for about seven years and I agree, it can be lonely and quiet but it’s a great thing to keep going, to enjoy the archives by yourself if no one else is interested.

Happy new year everyone! Keep at it, whatever your it is!

  3. Thank you Armand and to all a very happy, healthy and peaceful New Year. The Moleskines and this website have actually inspired me again to write.

  4. Thank you so much for this wonderful site. Who could have ever thought that a notebook would be the catalyst for such a great community of artists, writers, thinkers…

    much love.
