Born on 6th of September 1952.
Student of the great Syrian calligrapher, Badawi Al Dirany.
Graduated in 1977 from the faculty of fine arts, Damascus University.
Worked as a calligrapher since 1967, then as a designer of books and various printed matters as well as a designer of typeface character.
Published booklets for teaching six kinds of Arabic calligraphy (Dar Aleef-Tunis).
Contributed a number of articles as an art critic, and others on Arab Islamic art.
Participated as an artistic consultant for the international Arab Encyclopedia and contributor a written piece on Arabic hand writing, Arabic calligraphy and the most eminent Arabic calligraphers.

  1. Just pure poety . I am an Australian so I cannot read what this art has to say BUT I surely can ‘feel’ it . It’s spiritual qualities touch my very soul .It does not take someone who understands the language to get fully the meaning of this man’s art .

    last May I was in Egypt for a brief tour and had the opportunity to know you work. It was my friend Roanne Bell who wrote an article about your artwork on a graphis design magazine, who showed me some of your material. The impression which I received was deep and the poetic that your persued matched complitely my opinion about arabic art.
