"If someone has read your diary, or even rifled through your desk drawer looking
for it, you can relate to my feelings of anger and betrayal. In an ideal world,
we would all respect each other’s privacy and wouldn’t dare to read another’s
diary, even if it were lying open on a table. However, human nature is curious,
and so our private writings are vulnerable. This doesn’t mean we should abandon
them, though. It just means we must become more determined — and creative — in
our resolve to protect our diaries from prying eyes…"

    My journals are “not secret ones” everybody can read them…I find this more interesting. They are not written specially to be read for others but they may.

    Five years ago I left a bag with bible and sketchbook at church. When I returned to find it both were spread out and opened. I still remember the feeling of exposure. I put all manner of things in my sketchbooks, images from my dreams, very personal issues I’m working on as well as the world I see in front of me. I haven’t left a sketchbook behind since. My journal has always been locked in a cabinet when not in my hand
