Find Your Dreams

" Brainstorm your dream by quickly answering hypothetical questions and examining the pattern they reveal.

Answer the following questions honestly and quickly with the first thing that comes to your mind.

What would you do with your life if…

    * You won $1 million?
    * You had to return to college to get a four-year degree?
    * You won $1,000 a week for life?
    * You lost your present job?
    * You had a disability that prevented you from walking?
    * You had six months to live?

hypothetical questions can give you insight into your true motivation.
Is there a pattern in your answers to the questions?

questions should force you to look behind what you might assume to be
your dream. For example, you might assume that your dream is to have
lots of money–but what do you want from that money? What do you want
to do with your time? With whom do you want to spend your time? "

  1. Another variation on this is: If you got to live on either a desert island or a in the middle of the woods in a cabin completely isolated for a WHOLE YEAR, what 10 things would you take with you (I think food is already supplied)? My notebooks, my cat, field guides for flora and fauna, etc…I’m not sure this is really helpful in exploring your goals, but it’s certainly fun to think about.

  2. Moleskinerie…As healthy adults we may think the question about the disablity which prevents walking as being purely hypothetical. But trust me as a healthy mum of 3 I came down with just that. So my point is…make the very most of each & every healthy God given day, because you never know what is around the corner. Believe me when I say it’s the things money can’t buy that become important in a situation like this…Family, friends, wind, sun, nature, faith…….the list goes on….
