First off, I have a hunch i would go mad if I lived somewhere tropical where the seasons are less distinct than they are in the northern hemisphere(I live in England.)
Second, I've noticed I tend to feel more creative (writing more poems) at the START of seasons. Spring is only a few weeks away and I'm glad I've got plenty of notebooks ready for that ! At the moment, on the other hand, deeply emneshed in the winter, I'm hardly writing anything. Except the journal. At the start of the winter, I felt energized, ditto when autumn started.
I think the seasons affect me far more now than they did a decade or so ago.

Having been born in a country that never knew snow it was certainly a treat and revelation for me as a child when I moved to Canada with my family. I remember seeing the crisp whiteness of the snow all around me and was mesmerized. Back then if I did journal things that would have been a big entry for me. However, not much has changed since then...I still love Winter and Snow and writing in my Moleskine journal. I take regular walks outside by myself in the wee hours or when I know no one else will be out to be alone walking on the snow. The soft crunching of the snow underneath is a comforting and meditative sound. This allows me to rethink over things and other issues that eventually get written down in my journal. For me Winter is the best time I get to reflect and do some hard thinking and writing.
