Exciting news from Moleskine – myDetour is coming to the great city of San Francisco this fall. It opens on September 10 and runs through October 1. Moleskine invites everyone in the Bay Area to check out the exhibits in various locations spread out around the city. You can even submit your own creations and potentially become part of the traveling archive of Moleskine notebooks.
Moleskine has joined hands with local bookstores and art supply shops to host the exhibits. Among them are Blick Art Materials, Borders Bookstore, Chronicle Books, Flax Art and Design, San Francisco State University Bookstore, Stanford University Bookstore and Utrecht Art Supplies.
A special feature in the the San Francisco myDetour project is the collaboration with 826 Valencia, a non-profit writing and tutoring center in San Francisco co-founded by Bay Area writer Dave Eggers. Students and volunteers from 826 Valencia were asked to create Moleskine books that reflect the ways in which they relate to their space and their city. Their works will be on display at participating locations.
myDetour benefits lettera27, a non profit organization supported by Moleskine Srl that is dedicated to supporting literacy and education programs around the world and especially in the most deprived areas.
