Culture Vulture: Travelling Moleskines®


Another worthy addition to the army of itinerant notebooks currently circling the globe:

"We have teamed up with The Big Draw to undertake a travelling Moleskine® project beyond compare!

A number of these iconic sketch books have been unleashed into the world to return to us by the end of September. The project will culminate in a fabulous arty party and exhibition in October to help raise funds for the Campaign for Real Drawing (Registered Charity No: 1114811)…"

    I keep wondering why they don’t have XXX moley exchanges. I think many people would think it was funny and you could have guidelines like “silly” or “gross” and for some people “REALLY SICK”. For some reason this is the only exchange that sounds fun to me. Otherwise I would just want to keep my own work and would be reluctant to let it “travel”. I’m surprised these exchanges became as popular as they have. I would bet someday there’s a Moleskine museum. And that traveling notebooks only went on for a little while. So “for a moment in time” and they’d have these prominently displayed because they’re so cool. But usually I’m not ready to let go of my work and I think most people think it sounds like a good IDEA, but…

    I have talked myself into it. I’m buying a Japanese album and doing the sex thing. If anyone else wants to get one and do the same let me know and we could figure it out.
