Questions:

1) What is your current Moleskine notebook?

My current, most used Moleskine is a large graph size, but I also have a small watercolour for drawing, daily planner, extra small cahier that I keep in my wallet, and one of the Woodstock Edition sketchbook.

2) How do you use your notebook?

I'm a list maker and a perpetual thinker. I use it to jot down new ideas for shoots, logos, future essays, and as a scrapbook of sorts. I do freelance and so it doubles as a kind of portfolio as well. But, I also like to remain well rounded, so I'll keep track of my current movie/music/book choices as well. It's a great source of inspiration in that quotes and past ideas and the like aren't forgotten or ignored. It also holds the all important "Bucket List." Something I think everyone should have.

3) What's the next place you plan to take your notebook to?

Well, I don't know really. I tend to take it everywhere with me. Even just to see my fiancee down the street. It's always there when I come up with a new idea or need to remember a layout or design for later. But, ideally, I'd love to take it to Ireland or Japan in the next couple years. But, by then I'll have started a new one.

4) What do you want to tell the world?

That looking from the ground up, you can only go higher. A friend helped me realize that a couple years ago. It doesn't matter how far you fall or even where you start. You can only go higher from the furthest point in your life, no matter how far down you've gone. It also goes hand in hand with a quote I hold very dear to me. The lead singer of Switchfoot, Jon Foreman, once said, "Everyday you wake up, you change the world." So if you look at life like that, the hardest goal in anyone's life is already done just by opening their eyes. With everything keeping us down these days, whether it's the economy in the US, or war in Iraq and Afghanistan, or the earthquake in Haiti... open your eyes and you can change the world. That's basically it.

5) Where will you and your notebook be in 5 years?

Well, married and hopefully experiencing the world. Whether that world is out back in the garden or in Hampi, India, I know it will be amazing. And of course, my trusty friend Moleskine will be right there with me.
