Inspiration: “Spring Onions”

A friend pointed out this simple yet elegant (but exquisitely detailed) sketch of spring onions by Kathleen Reitz, a children's book illustrator.

A reminder that spring is upon us and it's time to take out that notebook and fill it with tales of adventures, wine labels, concert tickets and yes, onion recipes.

Yes, her drawings made me do it! I left everything aside, I took out all the vegetables I could find in the kitchen — not that many — and I started to draw. (I also took some photos of them.) I needed that. I hanged the drawing, in the end, in my office and put a copy on my desktop.
It felt grate! I carry my notebooks in my bag all over the city, I wanna start drawing again outside.
