We just received this story from Kolby, who succeeded in accomplishing his goal to hike 500 miles during 2010 and near 1000 since May 2009.
In May, 2009, I had a goal to get in shape through hiking and thought the best way to do that would be to try to hike 100 times in the remaining 240 days of the year. More surprised than anyone, I was able to accomplish that goal. In 2010, I upped the ante and aimed for 500 trail miles. Wouldn’t you know, I completed that goal as well. All in all, I’ve hiked almost 1,000 miles since May 2009 and had a pocket plain Moleskine every step of the way.
