The “An author a month” initiative keeps looking forward. Interest is very high in what these talented artist do and share within myMoleskine gallery. Andrew Miller has been the most prolific one for the last month of 2010, and in December he uploaded some beautiful pieces of art.
As we did in the past for the previous authors, we created a beautiful sleeve with a draw made by Andrew. You can download and print his “True Love vs Freedom” in the Sleeve section.
If you wish to discover more about Andrew and his passion about Moleskine, you can watch this video, read the interview below, or discover more on his blog.
See you the next month. And remember the next one could be you!
1-Who are you?
My name is Andrew Miller, and I am both a multimedia artist, and sales professional. In my past, I was a professional singer in a a few bands and have played all over the US. I currently live in Atlanta, GA and am in the process of trying to host an art show in the spring of 2011. Even though I have a BA in Marketing, I also have a degree in Visual Communications and worked as an art director for several years prior to me being in sales. During that time, I used the books as a starting point in my creative process for everything I do.
2-Tell us more about yourself and your passions
My passions include painting, drawing, singing…sometimes karaoke, and writing as I have carried Moleskine products over the past several years. Most of the sketches in my Moleskines have become paintings, as well as lyrics that eventually were professionally recorded and distributed regionally. I love the outdoors, especially the beach. I enjoy Camping, Hiking, Biking, Skateboarding and Kayaking as well as several indoor activities such as playing cards and socializing with friends on the weekends.
3-When did you first use a Moleskine notebook?
I bought my first Moleskine in 2002/2003 after I returned from Hollywood, CA and used the books to record my thoughts for future artistic efforts. I use the books everyday, and over time I have created a collection of Molskine books varying in size and funuction that I use for both work and my artwork.
4-Why do you like so much Moleskine notebooks?
The unique, but simple design along with the history of the books inspired me to do the same as other artists before me. I treasure my books as they are the starting point for everything I do.
5-Which is your favorite Moleskine notebook?
I have too many to have one favorite, but I love both the Watercolor Moleskines I have, along with an old school tattoo tribute I have on a traditional sketchbook of medium size. I like the medium size book, as I can easily carry them during my travels and hide them during boring sales meetings as I sketch my next work.
