Name: Charles Hollingshead from Greenwood, Indiana.
1. What is your current Moleskine notebook?
Moleskine 2011 Maroon X-Small Daily Planner which I am using for a drawing a day project. I also have a pocket lined moleskine I have been using to take notes and plot out an alternate history graphic novel that is still in it’s infancy.
2. How do you use your notebook for this project?
I have been doing a drawing a day in the x-small daily planner. (I secretly have two so I can draw only on one side of each page) So far I’ve been doing black and white drawings with grey copic markers for tones and even painting on some white highlights. I loved the chunkiness of this little book as soon as I picked it up. I thought having the dated blank pages would be a great motivator for me to do a small drawing everyday, and having 365 pages to work with I feel free to try out different things, because tomorrow is always another day!
3. What’s the next place you plan to take your notebook to?
I think taking my Moleskines to West Virginia for my family reunion this summer would be a great place to do some sketches of the extended family I don’t get to see that often. Plus it’s a great place to draw nature.
4. What do you want to tell the world?
PAY ATTENTION!!! Ha ha, seriously so much is happening in the world today I would tell everyone to stay informed and be involved!
5. Where will you and your notebook be in 5 years?
In 5 years I hope to be deeply immersed in the ongoing stories that take place in the world of the graphic novel I’m only now starting to work on. I will also be watching my little girl grow up and learning as much from her as I can. And, of course, I will still be doing drawings and using moleskine notebooks to capture my ideas.
