Where to start?

Often times the first page of a journal takes the longest to complete. We found a great writeup on many inspiring ideas and ways to use a journal.

Something we believe at Moleskine is that you don’t have to be a perfectionist. Each notebook is a space to grow and develop your thoughts and stories. Nobody has one great idea after another but developing that idea over time will lead you where you want to go.

“It’s not that I’m so smart, it’s just that I stay with problems longer.” Albert Einstein.

  1. I journal to organise my thoughts on some subjects and keep track of them. So I recommend a journal for every separate subject.

I enjoy making lists about everything in my Moleskine. Since i’m 8, i organize my days, weeks in my head (mostly under the shower…) and i also like having some “life advice”. My journal helps me making more lists, more plans and tracking all my advices and reflexions to make my life easier, or at least to relax me.

But i prefer having all my articles in only one moleskine, so i can read everything and be prepared for my day.

    Why do I journal?

    To document:
    – fun times
    – things people say that are memorable
    – vacations
    – memories
    – quotes
    – attempts at art

I journal because I find that writing allows me to be vulnerable and therefore truthful with and about myself. What good am I doing by constructing lies on paper? I gain nothing when I don’t fully explore who I am and my actions. Writing gives me the space to be critical of who I am, so I can work on who I want to be.
