Putting Pen to Paper for Handwriting Day

Happy Handwriting Day, everyone!

Today, the world celebrates the pleasure and art of the handwritten word, one of the simplest and most personal ways of expression. Few things rival the pleasure of handwriting, especially in an age dominated by the QWERTY keyboards of iPhones, iPads and laptops, where the tactile simplicity of pen and paper suddenly commands a timeless attraction.

2015 marks our third year celebrating Handwriting Day, and once again we’re asking you to grab your pens and styluses, ditch those computer keyboards and smartphone touch screens for a second, and join us in writing your social media updates by hand. Join the conversation by sharing your handwritten tweets and posts with the tags #HandwritingDay and #mHDay.

Many friends of Moleskine have already submitted handwritten posts of their own, like Zady founder Maxine Bédat, AirBnb founder Joe Gebbia, and Nobel prize-winning writer Malala Yousafzai, as well as Moleskine co-founder Maria Sebregondi.

For a chance to win a supply of Moleskine writing and drawing tools, enter our Creativity Challenge and submit your handwritten posts to myMoleskine before January 28th.

Obviously, there’s no need for extraordinary pensmanship skills – just have some fun, and good luck!

To get inspired, here are some of our favorite entries and stories about Handwriting Day 2015.
