Detour Istanbul Update: Altelye70

 


A fascinating example of the creativity shocased at Detour Istanbul.

ATELYE 70 PLANNING AND DESIGN GROUP has been established in 1970. Since 1982 Prof. M. Arch. Hüseyin KAPTAN is the chairman of this group. From 2004 Arch. Doğu KAPTAN and Arch.Yonca TEMİZKAN joined the group working on projects of urban architecture and interior design. The groups major areas of interest are: Urbanization (Process) of Rural Areas, Atelye 70 engaged in research, assessment and planning services for Turkish towns located in various geographical areas with (their) unique socio-economic and cultural characters. Planning of Growing Cities and Urban Projects in Metropolitan Areas - Planning of Istanbul Metropolitan Area. Conservation Plans. Planning of Tourism and Recreational Areas, Architectural and interior design for private and institutional clients.


The show opened on May 22nd and goes on through June 21st.

About Detour:

Detour is a Moleskine project dedicated to culture and creativity worldwide that features internationally recognized artists, architects, film directors, graphic designers, illustrators, and writers. Detour is a small piece of the Moleskine journey, where interlacing stories merge. The travelling group show Detour, curated by Raffaella Guidobono, invites authors to compile and illustrate Moleskine notebooks with experienced knowledge insider tips for adventure hungry nomads. All of them deliver an intimate insight into the artists' creative process.

Months of preparations have finally come to a conclusion as the much-anticipated Detour exhibition of Moleskine notebooks makes a stop in Istanbul, Turkey today.

"Detour is set to arrive in Istanbul on 22th May at santralistanbul. As its name suggests, Detour is a traveling group show dedicated to the nomadic and the winding route of contemporary creativity and imagination. During the event, art lovers are invited to witness internationally renowned artists and designers from every corner of the world share their designs and creative processes through their personalized Moleskine notebooks. Detour displays an innovative artistic experience wherein art lovers can touch and feel in person the ever-active power of imagination in the pages of Moleskine notebooks in the form of drafts, drawings, notes, keys, photographs or designs. Constantly on the move, Detour continues to attract new artists to the project, especially figures within the creative community who are particularly related to the cities where exhibitions take place...."

For those who haven't heard of it yet, Moleskine Asia has launched My Moleskine 2.0 Competition, intended to "celebrate the intimate relationship between life hacking digital nomads and the Moleskine notebooks."

The grand prize includes a lifetime supply of Moleskine notebooks, 2nd prize is a collection of 25 Moleskine notebooks and diaries and 3rd prize winner receives a collection of 15 Moleskine notebooks and diaries.

The best ideas will be shown in My Moleskine 2.0 Exhibition.

Contest: My Moleskine 2.0 Competition

Moleskine is organising the My Moleskine 2.0 competition with Hong Kong City'super and www.lifehack.org. It focuses on “life hacking”, collecting tips and tricks to improve your quality of life by automating, increasing productivity and organising with Moleskine.

It opens to all Moleskine fans worldwide, selected ideas will be invited to produce the Moleskine for our exhibition in July. Deadline of submission: May 31, 2009.

The idea should fall within one of the following category:
• Creativity and imagination
• Organisation and productivity
• Archive and memory
• Fun and innovative hacks

Selected ideas will have chance to win below exciting prizes:

1st prize: A lifetime supply of Moleskine Notebooks*
2nd prize: Collection of 25 Moleskine notebooks and diaries
3rd prize: Collection of 15 Moleskine notebooks and diaries
All other exhibited entries will receive a set of 3 Moleskine notebooks.

*Limited to 5 notebooks per year over a period of 50 years

MoleskineAsia's My Moleskine Nô To*”

MoleskineAsia has an exhbition going on in Singapore and Flee's notebook is among them.

My Moleskine Nô To*” (* Notebook)  will present works inspired from journeys in Japan from renowned artists from various origins (France, Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan. Portugal, Philippines...). Their background and medium of expression are as diverse as music (Aspidistrafly, Mondii), illustration and design (Graphicairlines, Fleecircus, Ai Wei, Audrey Salmon, Satoshi Ogawa, Stanley Wong…), and fashion and product design (Lines Lab).

For this creative melting pot, the Moleskine notebook will become their new canvas to freely express and showcase their inspirations and artworks or to share a more intimate side of their work. Audience will have the chance to peruse the notebooks, so that they will discover and experience at their own pace each page of creative wonder.
