Moleskine A4 Papers

For those who have been clamoring for "loose leaf" Moleskine paper, here it is finally. Sort of.

Testing the new Blackwing pencil

 

Mark Frauenfelder got hold of the new Blackwing pencil and posted his review:

"I like the OB for sentimental reasons. If the NB ends up looking almost exactly like the OB and costs under $2.00, I will buy it. Otherwise I will use any HB that ends up in my hand."

The Blackwing pencil comes back

The net is abuzz with the news that the venerable Blackwing pencils are about to make a comeback. In a post at BoingBoing, our friend Mark Frauenfelder quoted a letter from the California Cedar Products Company about their acquisition of the trademark.

I share Mark's high hopes "that the new Blackwing will live up to the slogan that was stamped in gold foil on the original: "Half the Pressure, Twice the Speed."

TreeSmart newspaper pencils

 

Stylish, functional and very green - these pencils are made out of recycled newspapers. From Abe's market which sells them:

Saddleback Leather Co.

Terry Shipman alerted us to a site called Saddleback Leather Co. where you can almost hear the cattle's hooves in the distance. Says Terry:

Product update: Moleskine for Urban Sketchers

Exciting news for sketchers, especialy in the Portland, OR area:

Project: Moleskine iPad case

The Geek Collective takes the Moleskine where no notebook has gone before with this project - an iPad case. Brandon explains the "Why" part:

"Putting a case around an Apple product gives me mixed emotions. Apple puts so much devotion into designing their products that every detail has been thought about. Holding a bare iPhone or iPad, it just feels right, then only thing they don’t seem to take into consideration is, what if it is dropped, what if it is put in a bag, what if it rests on a rough surface, what if its in a pocket with keys. A case is needed..."
