Untitled-1 copy

For those who want a cover for the notebooks, consider these offerings from a small grassroots company based in San Francisco, California. For the traditionalist, the Black Molecover offers the protection of a cover, without sacrificing the standard look and feel that made you initially love the Moleskine® brand. It’s thin, tight grain, durable leather is sure to have your Moleskine® notebook looking the same, first day to last. "Moleskine 42"

Commissioned art on Moleskine notebooks by Hugh Macleod at the gapingvoid. Always the question:   how to access the rest of a good notebook when its framed but I guess if one page says it all, it's worth it.

About:

Hugh MacLeod is a cartoonist, who makes his living publishing fine art prints via the internet. His book, "Ignore Everybody" comes out June, 2009. Also known for his ideas about how "Web 2.0" affects advertising and marketing, after a decade of working as an advertising copywriter, Hugh started blogging at gapingvoid.com in 2001. He first started off just publishing his cartoons, but as time wore on he started blogging about his other main interest i.e. marketing. (more)

Matt Cleaver's Ultimate Ubiquitous Capture Device

Volant_pic_1

Sometimes the best technology is the simplest. Here's Matt Cleaver's take:

"....there are times when you just have to capture an idea on-the-spot, and the most convenient way to do it at that particular time is by writing it down. To do this, you are supposed to use your “Ubiquitous Capture Device,” something you always have with you so you can never miss recording a thought. I’ve tried different ways of doing this, from carrying around note cards to scrap paper to moleskin notebooks. None of my solutions thus far has been satisfactory...."

Video: What's Your Moleskine In?

A short piece by Davide Bogie on the making of Gfeller cases for Moleskine notebooks.

"How about wrapping your molie in exquisite leather? In this film by david bogie, Steve Derricott of Gfeller Casemakers demonstrates the precision and pride with which he crafts his notebook covers. This is one of the finer accessories you can add to you Moleskine collection and a great way to protect your notebook. "

Interesting to some, riveting for notebook geeks like me:) Good job David!

Blytheking makes stuff and sells them at Etsy, the last line on the product blurb caught my eye,

"I made this case to fit the large size Moleskine notebook (5x8.25", 13x21 cm).

My original design features security strap with button closure, and back-strap, handy for hooking your pens onto, for tucking papers under, and for securing case to your bag or body. Front pocket measures about 4x4.5".

Made with vintage Pendleton wool fabric, and vintage button.*
